Why Eat Rabbit?
Because it's healthy:
- It's extra lean, all white meat.
- It's high protein, low fat, low cholesterol, and low sodium; very heart-friendly!
- It is easily digestible, suitable for special diets.
- The ratio of meat to bone is high, meaning there is more edible meat on the carcass.
- Rabbit meat does not have a strong flavor, and is comparable to chicken but not identical.
Because it's good for the environment:
- Rabbits are one of the most productive domestic livestock animal there is. Rabbits can produce 6 times the amount of meat as a cow, on the same quantity of feed.
- Rabbits require little space, there is no need to raze an entire rain forest to pasture rabbits.
- A few rabbits can be kept on a suburban lot, discreetly, and provide a steady supply of meat for the family .
- The droppings can be added directly to the garden, without composting.
